The USS Arizona as a community requires heavy effort on the part of the members both in and out of character; writing in a unique setting requiring a lot of research and coordination of efforts. In order to recognize great writing, great effort, and being a fantastic example of what it means to be a member of our community we have commissioned this award system.
Content awards are based on the content of a scene (post) written by a member or group of members. Any member may nominate a member or post for a content award at any time. Content awards are reviewed monthly by the staff. Nomination should happen within thirty days of the post being made.
|Posts that make us crack a smile, let out a snort, or bring out a full on belly laugh. This award is for posts that brought humor into our lives and made our days a bit brighter because of it.|
|Post that showed great insight into the operations of a submarine, engineering, or other technically sound information presented that gave great substance to a post.|
|A post that features the writer having their character make a mistake or be unsuccessful in outcome which is not often done in this type of writing. This shows great thought and growth of the writer and character.|
|Assigned a writing prompt or requested action by a member of the staff for story purposes and carried it out in character while achieving all goals set by the staff.|
|An award for giving good insight to the background, growth, or development of a character through a written scene or a series of scenes.|
These awards will be given based on achieving certain milestones within the simulation as a member. Things like creating your biography, writing a post as both Officer of the Deck and Engineering Officer of the Watch at some point (mimicking the dolphin qualifications for officer), and other various aspects of our writing that make this sim unique and are worth recording.
|The Gold Dolphins shall be awarded to a member of the crew after they have published a post serving both as Engineering Officer of the Watch and Officer of the Deck. This award is based on the qualification requirements for commissioned officers aboard US Navy submarines. This is awarded by a member of the staff on behalf of the Game Manager, members may self nominate if needed. Members may earn this award per commissioned or warrant officer character who meets the requirements.|
|The Silver Dolphins shall be awarded to a member of the crew after they have published a post serving as part of a watch section either in control or on the bridge as well as completing a post about their department related duties. This award is based on the qualifications requirements for enlisted crew aboard US Navy submarines. This is awarded by a member of the staff on behalf of the Game Manager, members may self nominate if needed. Members may earn this award per enlisted character who meets the requirements.|
|This award is given to a member who has successfully completed a biography for any character on the simulation who has served in the United States Military. This award is for accurately reflecting a realistic service record and a biography that includes early life history (pre-Navy), key relationships, and milestones throughout the character’s career up to their posting to Arizona. This is awarded by a member of the staff on behalf of the Game Manager, members may self nominate if needed.|
|This award is given to a member who has successfully participated in an episode of the USS Arizona from its launch to its completion. This is awarded by a member of the staff on behalf of the Game Manager on completion of each episode.|
These awards will be given based on the amount of time a member spends with the USS Arizona. Awarded on the anniversary of the member joining Arizona at various points in time such as six months, a year, etc
|Awarded to a member who has been an active member for six months to reward their commitment to our community and establishment as a member.|
|Awarded to a member on their anniversary of membership to celebrate their longevity and dedication to our community.|
|Awarded to a member who joined the USS Arizona prior to January 2022. The original members who signed up prior to January 2022 did so without the benefit of any established canon, ready resources on the wiki, or idea of how our posts would work. These members helped drive the development and success of the sim so early in its life.|
|The Best Scene is an award given per episode based on a vote of the crew at the completion of each episode the staff shall accept nominations for best scene for a seven day period followed by a seven day voting period. The Best Scene shall be awarded by the Game Manager on behalf of the crew on a simple majority. The Game Manager or designated member of the staff shall break any ties.|
